Gateway: Coming to America follows Wilhelm Brenner, a Swiss printer who has spent 18 years in the same dead-end job, watching the world pass by his window. When a shipping agent rides into town promising a new life across the ocean, Wilhelm does something his father told him was impossible — he dares to dream.

What unfolds is the story of a single journey: a crowded steerage deck, a cast of strangers who become something like family — Rosa, sailing toward a man she barely remembers. Vito, a father finally reuniting with his sons. Hans, a young violinist placed on a ship by a mother who loved him enough to let him go. And Jacob, who fled in the night with nothing but a cloth bag and his pregnant wife.

Together, they cross an ocean, face Ellis Island’s doctors and gatekeepers, and stand before the Statue of Liberty — each of them carrying a different dream, each of them asking the same question: Will America take one more?

Woven through with original songs, Gateway is the story America was built on — told through the people who believed in it before they ever set foot on its shores. As the nation celebrates 250 years, it arrives exactly when it’s needed most.
